What’s been happening lately…

What?! An oyster vending machine? Did you read that right? You sure did!! And we found it in St. Vaast in Normandy.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I hope you’re enjoying this day with great food, friends and family, and maybe a cheeky margarita or two. We grilled up some fajitas and enjoyed the sunny weather. How are you finishing up the weekend?

For me, it’s all about creating special details and an inviting space to enjoy with loved ones. This party brings back such happy memories. Happy weekend!!

It would be a crime to go to Normandy without tasting cider, Pommeau and Calvados! Plus, the tasting rooms serve apple juice tastings to the kids, so they’re absolutely kid friendly!

The American Cemetery in Normandy is a powerful site. There’s a museum to tour before you walk the grounds. As you leave the building there’s a woman’s voice saying the names of each life lost. I wasn’t expecting to well up because I’d been there before, but I did. It’s hard to put in words how this place makes you feel. Sad that so many lives were lost, but proud and grateful they made the sacrifice during such a tragic time in our history. An obvious must see to pay your respects when in Normandy, and never forget.
